Monday we drove about an hour outside of Austin to the Exotic Zoo Resort. We took a guided Safari tours as soon as we arrived, and later on some friends and their kids joined us for an evening of ‘camping’ in the on-site cabins.

On a recent trip to visit my family Cincinnati, I pulled my little brother and sister aside and took a few pictures of them in front of their house. I think they turned out very cute, but of course I’m biased!

We went down to Symphony Square this morning for the Children’s Day Art Park. It was a Teddy Bear theme: a teddy bear contest, teddy grahams, teddy bears everywhere! We sat in the shade and enjoyed the music and fun. I brought my camera of course, and had nearly given up on getting any photos when Sophia wandered to this little garden in the back and I got a few shots.

Every Monday morning, Sophia and I are at the Austin Children’s Museum for the Baby Bloomers program. The museum is opened exclusively for ages 3 and under. Her favorite part is the sing-a-long, their version of the “itsy bitsy spider” has a verse about the “great big gorilla” and Sophia loves it!

This morning Shannan brought Jacob over to have pictures taken for mothers day. We sat on a blanket on the lawn and the kids had a great time, munching on snacks and bobbing their heads to music as cars with loud stereos drove by. I got to see the many faces of Jacob, I just love his expressions!
